Between 21st and 27th September, 2014, the international workshop on Electromagnetic Phenomena Associated with Earthquakes and Volcanoes (EMSEV) will be held in Poland nearby Warsaw. Its focuses are the observation and explanation of the various kinds of electromagnetic phenomena associated with seismic and volcanic activities.
EMSEV is an IUGG Working Group supported by IAGA, IASPEI and IAVCEI. Its focuses are the observation and explanation of the various kinds of electromagnetic phenomena associated with seismic and volcanic activities particularly from a multi-disciplinary point of view. In September 22-26, 2014, there will be organized the next biennial symposium “EMSEV 2014” in Poland in small town Konstancin Jeziorna nearby Warsaw easy accessible from Warsaw Okęcie Fryderyk Chopin International Airport.
Topics of International Workshop
- Electrodynamics in solids and rock materials- theory and laboratory results,
- Physics and observations of Earthquake preparatory processes,
- Constraints from seismology, geodesy and other geophysical techniques,
- Related electromagnetic signals and other physical parameters to earthquakes – ground base and satellite observations,
- Related electromagnetic signals and other physical parameters to volcanoes, geothermal fields and landslides – ground base and satellite measurements,
- Signal recognition, data processing and modeling,
- Multi-parametric monitoring of the earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides
- Information, communication, and risk-assessment,
- Future experiments, missions and theoretical developments,
- reliability of precursor signals to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and landslides. Communication, Information, and responsibility.
