Throughout 2019 two calls for this function were issued by the Polish Government. The first was closed without selecting a new President, although two “finalists” were named. These candidates were connected to the Polish space sector and were or still are holding posts at POLSA.

In the meantime, a new law concerning POLSA was introduced. The act changed the procedures of selecting top positions within POLSA and the function of the council of the Agency. In addition, the act changed the ministry before which POLSA answers to – the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology (MPiT).

The second call for the function of the President of POLSA was issued in the end of July 2019. Finally, on the 1st of October 2019 MPiT informed that it has selected Mr Michal Szaniawski as the new President of POLSA.
