Participants arrived from over 20 European countries, as well as  the US, India or Egypt. Poland was represented by three participants and two mentors.

What is the concept of the Startup Weekend?

The concept is easy: a few dozen individuals, programmers, designers, marketing specialists, entrepreneurs and others meet during a weekend in one place, where in formed teams they work together on their business idea. In this case they will focus on the space industry. The participants also take part in presentations, tutorials and workshops related to business, technology or law.

From all pitched ideas the most interesting ones are chosen by the participants’ vote. Ten ideas, which will obtain the most votes will continue being developed for the next two days until the reach a more mature stage. At the team’s disposal are mentors, who share their knowledge and lead the teams on their track of business creativity.

On the final day of SWS the ideas are presented in front of experts, who choose the winners. The experts come from various environments: scientific, engineering, administrative (for example the European Space Agency) or investment groups.
