The Polish space company Kosmonauta.net will attend this year’s International Astronautical Congress in South Africa. The topic of the presentation revolves around future commercial suborbital services for the Central European market.

Kosmonauta.net is currently one of few Polish companies or groups attending various international events from the space sector. Among them, the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is probably the most important one. The IAC gives an unique opportunity to present one’s achievements and gain valuable contacts with representatives from different countries and parts of the World. This is of great importance to companies and groups from Central Europe, where the space sector is still at its early development stages.

Our presentation will focus on this decade’s prospects for the commercial suborbital services market in the particular case of Central Europe. The authors (Krzysztof Kanawka, PhD and Michal Moroz, MA) intend to present the current and projected opportunities as well as the limitations of the market. The analysis is done in terms with the projected accession of several countries from this region to the European Space Agency (ESA), which is predicted to increase level of investment in the space sector.

Presentation authors:

  • Krzysztof Kanawka, PhD DIC – currently a post-doc in the field of fuel cell technologies, research interests include advancement in space-related technologies (with focus on medicine and materials), space industry market (with focus on emerging niches) and international cooperation within this branch.
  • Michal Moroz, MA – Orientalist, lecturer at the University of Wrocław, research interests include spaceflight and technology advancements in developing countries.
