The IAF President Elect, Mr. Jean-Yves Le Gall, has developed an Agenda for his term as IAF President which he intends to implement starting from September 2016 for a period of 3 years: the IAF Global Innovation Agenda 2016-2019.

One of the most important points in this agenda is focusing on diversity by fostering the principles of “3- G” Diversity within the Federation and the Space Sector: Geography, Generation, Gender.

We are pleased to inform you that, in the frame of the “3G” Diversity principle, Mr. Le Gall has created a new platform which provides a framework for an intensive and open exchange on diversity and equality aspects within the IAF and amongst IAF member organisations as well as potential IAF members and other organisations promoting diversity:

IAF “3G” International Platform for Diversity and Equality in Astronautics (IDEA)

To properly inaugurate this new initiative, a luncheon will take place on Wednesday 28 September 2016, from 12:30 – 13:30 during the International Astronautical Congress 2016 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The programme of this event encompasses an opening introduction by Jean-Yves Le Gall, and three keynote speeches by Jan Woerner, Director General, European Space Agency (ESA), focusing on the Geographical Diversity, Dava Newman, Deputy Administrator, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), focusing on Generation Diversity, and Kay Sears, Vice President, Strategy & Business Development, SSC, Lockheed Martin Corporation, focusing on Gender Diversity.

A light buffet – sponsored by Lockheed Martin Corporation, IAC 2016 Official Industry Anchor Sponsor – will be offered.

If you wish to interview any of the speakers regarding this brand new IAF platform, please contact Emma Huis at media@iafastro.org.
